Adakah burung yang memiliki baris gigi di mulutnya? Sepengetahuan kita tidak ada. Tetapi, seekor bangkai burung misterius yang bergigi dilaporkan telah ditemukan di kota Meshginsharhr di barat laut propinsi Ardebil, Iran.

Para penduduk lokal menemukan bangkai burung tersebut pada hari minggu tanggal 8 Mei 2011. Burung itu terlihat seperti baru mati beberapa hari karena sisa-sisa bulunya masih bisa terlihat dengan jelas. Demikian dilaporkan kantor berita IRNA.

Sebuah tim kecil dari organisasi perlindungan lingkungan Iran (EPO) segera dikirim ke wilayah itu untuk menyelidiki kebenaran berita tersebut.

Salah seorang penduduk dilaporkan telah menyembunyikan bangkai itu dan tim dari EPO sedang berusaha menemukannya. Walaupun belum menemukannya, tim itu berhasil mendapatkan foto bangkai tersebut dari penduduk lokal.

Tim itu juga mendapatkan laporan dari para penduduk lokal yang menyebutkan kalau burung itu tinggal di gua dekat desa mereka.

Bangkai misterius itu memiliki tengkorak seperti anjing dengan gigi taring yang besar. Namun tubuhnya terlihat seperti seekor burung yang tidak bisa terbang. Para peneliti mengatakan kalau bangkai itu tidak sesuai dengan spesies burung yang dikenal. Jadi, penelitian lebih lanjut akan segera dilakukan dan verifikasi dari ornitologist akan segera diminta.

Namun kasus ini sepertinya memiliki unsur rekayasa. Yang paling mencolok adalah hilangnya bangkai misterius tersebut di awal penyelidikan sehingga tidak bisa diteliti lebih lanjut. Jika bangkai ini adalah rekayasa, maka bisa jadi pembuatnya menggabungkan badan seekor burung dengan kepala seekor anjing

Saya tidak mengerti bahasa yang digunakan oleh reporternya, tetapi, jika melihat cuplikan gambarnya, sepertinya bangkai burung yang disembunyikan tersebut telah berhasil ditemukan kembali. Kali ini mungkin para peneliti dapat mulai bekerja untuk menentukan keasliannya.

Akan sangat menarik jika di kemudian hari burung tersebut terbukti bukan sebagai rekayasa. Itu artinya kita akan memiliki burung bergigi untuk pertama kalinya.
